How Does the Idea of a MOC come to you?

I thought it would be interesting to find out how members decided what to build next. I know some people make minifigures and then build something around them (which is what I sometimes do). Some people walk past a local building everyday and think it would look great in lego form. Some just pluck something out of thin air and create in their heads. Others take inspiration from other people's work.

I want to know what you do.

I build minifigs and work from there.

I generally use other peoples designs for buildings or buildings nearby me for insparation.

If I see something I like I build it.

I don't really know how I get it exactly. Usually I get a mental picture in my head from something I see and then try to make that design in Lego. But sometimes it doesn't work out.
